Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Mark Sinton is returning to music after a lengthy sabbatical from the industry, with a solo show at The Union Hotel to preview songs from his debut solo album, ‘Change To Something New’. His previous London-based band, The Gasolineros, had just completed making their debut album Nash Point with producer Charlie Francis (REM, Turin Brakes, Robyn Hitchcock, High Llamas, Minus 5 and Wilco) and were preparing for a tour of Europe, Japan and Australia in 2005 when the band ended. An unexpected trip to his home town in Northern Ireland was the genesis for a return to music, and a stylistic shift with his debut solo album. Co-producer Rohan Sforcina called upon his former Oh Mercy band-mate Eliza Lam to join himself and Mark to make the record at his Headgap studio in Thornbury, Melbourne. 'Change To Something New' will be released on Shankly Records on 17.06.22
