Are you up for a chill and fun Sunday arvo of good original music? Then look no further than Mamma Chen’s Footscray on the 15th September, when three great local artists will deliver a smorgasbord of soulful sounds!

At 2.15 get the chillin’ vibes in solo set from indie storyteller George Last, at 3.15 the talented Heather Fiona – with that stunning bluesy voice – will grace the stage, then at 4.15 don’t miss a seriously fun rockin’ hour long set from Little Somebodies at 4.15! And even better it’s a free event!!

Little Somebodies straddle social comment and wit in their catchy story songs, travelling through roots, rock and ska to clarinet-infused gypsy terrain. The Melbourne five piece, headed by Phil Hudson, features dynamic and thoughtful songwriting and arranging and also deliver some serious foot-tapping fun. They are now in the final steps of production before the launch of their debut album ‘Piece of Peace’ later this year.

Heather Fiona is a Footscray-based songwriter who specialises in her own inimitable style of soulful retro-pop, blending together elements of blues, country and Motown while maintaining a distinct edge thanks to her captivating vocals. Her sophomore album ‘Two Steps’, produced by Tim Guy, is a dynamic work, diverging from her signature sound.

George Last is an independent singer/songwriter hailing from Melbourne. Launching a solo career in 2023, George regularly performs solo around town with occasional backing from “The First Born”. Debut EP “Last Looks Back” is a recollection of intimate stories from his past set to a musical melange of indi/alt stylings.

These three original acts look forward to seeing you out west at Mamma Chen’s for a lovely Melbourne spring Sunday arvo of music and story!
