Noria and her band showcase a vibrant and exciting take ofcontemporary French jazz.Forget the introspection, it’s anevening of brilliant music, technical virtuosityand joyous entertainment.It’s original, it’s improvisational, it’senergetic, it’s jazz featuring some ofAustralia’s top musicians including French chanteuse Noria Letts, SteveSedergreen (piano), Reza Kashi (oud and guitar) and Jon Hunt (clarinet andsax)-all with years of experience playing here and touring overseas.It’s a musical melting pot, cooking up an eclectic mix of music from the French-the likes of Gainsbourg, Michel LeGrand and Camille Bertault-through tothe giants of the US-Coltrane (yes, Giant Steps with French lyrics!), Monkand Brubeck-with a nod to their epic Parisian live recordings.The contemporary French feel is enriched by the presence of Reza Kashi’soud, reflecting France’s multicultural diversity, Noria’s heritage and her love ofthe complex rhythmsand melodies of theMaghreb.Noria has performed throughout France, Switzerland including Montreux, NewYork and Canada.She has a stunning range from a very personal and successful Piaf stageshow she wrote, produced and sold-out performances at the likes of theAvoca Beach Theatre and Birds Basement, through to a celebration of gypsyjazz music including opening the OzManouche Festival.She was also honoured to sing La Marseillaise for a global TV audience andcapacity crowd at Marvel Stadium beforethe recent Matildas v Francewomen’s football international."Absolutely authentic ...
