Jessie Monk is a Naarm/Berlin-based avant-folk musician and story-teller, whose ocean-travels swell into waves of song to be washed upon ye’ shores, rich in trinkets and old shells. Joined by fellow feathers - Sophie Fitzpatrick and Patrick Pheasant - the trio play mostly Jessie’s compositions, but also music from the Celtic and Appalachian traditions. Her sound is reminiscent of artists like Joni Mitchell and Sam Amidon, while the song lyrics are inspired by Rilke and Ovid. The trio create an atmosphere of tangible yet experimental folklore and sincerity, enchanting audiences with their joyful and jubilant playing style.
