Hug Group presents a night of dynamic performances at Last Chance Rock and Roll Bar, featuring two of Indonesia’s most exciting acts: Gangsar and Rub of Rub, both touring Australia for SXSW Sydney.

Gangsar, an evolution of the acclaimed Balinese outfit Rollfast, brings a high-energy blend of psych rock with a contemporary twist. Formed by Agha Praditya (vocals), Bayu Krisna (guitar), Arya Triandana (bass/synth), Adi Jaya Kusuma (guitar), and Deva Maliarda (drums), this Bali-based quintet has crafted an intoxicating soundscape. Their journey from a basement studio to the stage showcases their ability to explore diverse sounds and styles, creating an unpredictable and captivating live experience.

Sharing the stage is Rub of Rub, an experimental dub band from Bandung. Their music fuses psychedelic, electronic, disco, and reggae dub, offering a unique progressive sound. Since their debut EP Ruang Waktu (2018), Rub of Rub has become a staple in Indonesia’s underground scene, performing at top festivals like Synchronize Festival and Joyland. Their latest EP Fluktuasi (2021) further cemented their reputation as sonic innovators, and they’re now poised for greater international recognition.

Together, Gangsar and Rub of Rub promise an unforgettable night of electrifying performances at Last Chance Rock and Roll Bar.
