Double Happiness
"Described by one guy as “Australian Molchat Doma”, Double Happiness combine Post Punk with influences from Boy Harsher, Slowdive, as well as a roster of 80s Synthpop acts. Drum machines and delay pedals underpin lyrics detailing insomniac delusions and Victoria Street “scenery”, delivered with energy cultivated over the members' prestigious careers in aggressive noises"
Human Intrusion
Human Intrusion, the Naarm-based two-piece project of Penny Walker-Keefe and Lewis O’Brien, unrepentantly wear their influences on their sleeve by constructing hypnotically all-consuming walls of sound and digging deep into lush brooding aesthetics painted with reverb-laden guitar, existential angst and touches of ethereal romanticism. Their dark rock nostalgia, with ‘80s post-punk and 90’s alt-rock spirit, filters through a richly textured modern lens as unchartered intersections between new wave, goth, and shoegaze are traversed to scintillate the senses of fans of The Chameleons, Curve, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy and Siouxsie Sioux. 2023 saw the release of their vividly atmospheric self-produced debut single and eponymous EP.
