Ecstatic Racquet is the new Darren Cross album, the first album under the moniker of D.C Cross and is completely instrumental folk guitar with influences far reaching from John Fahey to Bert Jansch, Nick Drake to Enya and Tangerine Dream.
Darren founded Sydney band Gerling and were together for 14 years - working with everyone from Kylie Minogue, The Avalanches to US Rapper Kool Keith. More recently playing beautiful ethereal folk noir with Jessica Cassar in Jep and Dep, the duo have supported everyone from Jonny Marr, Cash Savage, Mia Dyson, Courtney Barnett, Jessica Pratt, Blackeyed Susans to Aldous Harding.
Darren has released two solo albums under is own name on a French Record label and has toured Europe 3 times, most recently at the beginning of 2019 with a headline show at David Lynch's SIlencio bar in Paris.
Johhny Marr himself suggested Darren to study the guitar master Bert Jansch, when his folk duo Jep and Dep supported Marr in Sydney.
Darren will be selling Ecstatic Racquet on vinyl, cd on the night and also special edition 'Ecstatic Racquet' t-shirts, 30 only.
