The Brunswick Ballroom is thrilled to announce the anticipated return of Dave Mason (The Reels) and Brendan Gallagher (Karma County/Jimmy Little) following the incredible show they treated us to in February 2022.

Dave Mason is a singular artist in the Australian music pantheon. Uncompromising, brilliant, and always cool. He penned APRA’s #10 Australian song of all time, Quasimodo’s Dream, and spear-headed THE REELS into the consciousness of music fans around the world since the late 70s.

Dave’s gift for melody and lyric imagery are the toast of his generation, and the envy of contemporary artists. His songs are as vital as the day they were written and his voice richer and more keening for the benefit of the passing years.

Karma County front man Brendan Gallagher, producer of over forty albums in as many years, including Jimmy Little’s instant classic Messenger, joins Dave on acoustic guitar.

Good music lasts forever.

Dave Mason's group The Reels are currently being celebrated with an exhibition at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo - on display until 2nd July 2023.
Dubbo in 1976 had only been officially a city for 10 years. It had one radio station and two TV channels. From this context sprang a band that would redefine Australian music in the 1980s and beyond. The Reels were a band that defied categorisation and were quickly embraced by audiences across the country. An endlessly innovative and idiosyncratic band, they skilfully re-interpreted “Golden Oldies” from music’s past into chart topping contemporary hits and produced original material that quickly saw them enter the annals of Australian Rock history, in spite of chart success.

THE BAND FROM DUBBO charts the bands history from its humble beginnings in Dubbo, its evolution through the 80s and 90s and its unique place in Australian Rock Music history.
