With over 30 years of experience as a professional musician, music teacher, and guitar instructor, Brendon holds qualifications that include a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Performing Arts in Music, and an Associate Diploma of Music.

He has undergone advanced training at prestigious contemporary music institutions such as Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. Additionally, Brendon has privately studied under the tutelage of distinguished jazz and fusion maestros, including but not limited to John Abercrombie, Pat Martino, Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Jeff Richman, and Ron Eschete.

Well-known for his virtuosity, The Creature from Outer Bass offers a broad palette of originals and cover songs ranging from rock, neo-classical, pop, ambient, funk, progrock, & experimental music.

The Creature from Outer Bass gained notoriety as the founding member and bassist for Melbourne Fusion group ‘The Banned”, his appearances on Hey, Hey it’s Saturday, ABC’s Countdown (with Margaret Urlich), many national and local radio performances, rave reviews in American Guitar Player magazine, and the Melbourne live scene. Originally signed to the Wheatley Organisation (The Banned), The Creature from Outer Bass has also worked as a ‘bass for hire’ musician on many projects including session work, advertising, tribute & cover bands but is now concentrating exclusively on his own artistry as a singer/songwriter with a unique connection to his chosen instrument.
